New player discoveries

The purpose of this thread is for new players to record their discoveries of cool and unique EiF features as they're learning and exploring EiF.

This idea came about after talking to a new player and they suggested it'd be good if new players could post their discoveries.

Ideally I'd envision this being short 1-2 sentence explanations (potentially with a screenshot). I'll also try and post about once per week. New (and old) players welcome!

I'll start us off!

Add extra lots to your house. Once you've placed a house in your player-city of choice, you can use the structure management terminal to allocate additional lots to the structure to increase the item storage capacity. Each lot allows 150 additional items.

This next one is almost two for one.

Once you've joined your faction of choice at an Imperial or New-Republic recruiter, you can then use your holocomm to interact remotely with your recruiter from anywhere! Simply use /holocomm.

Bonus tip: If you purchase anything with your faction points via the holocomm, the item/deed will be placed in your bank storage.

I got one. If you're tryingt to find where to shop for items/vendors don't know where to look? Follow these simple steps:

1) Find a Bazaar Terminal, they're in every city: select "Browse Market"


2) select "Vendor Location" and "Entire Galaxy" in the Auction List window:


you can also type in key words to help filter results in the "Crafted Item Name Filter" text field.


All results will be shown as a selection of what Object Type Filter you have selected, so make sure you have the right category of item selected when searching.

An example would be, if you want to find all the pistols available on vendors you would do something like:


Once you've found something you'd like to go buy, you can select the "Create waypoint" button which will create a waypoint in your datapad for that vendor named "waypoint to vendor" (shamelesss self promotion)

This next feature is not necessarily EiF specific, however I think is an often forgotten feature of SWG.

Finding an entertainer/dancer/musician in a cantina using the planetary map. Did you know that entertainers can register within certain structures which then show as active on the planetary map? Default key binding for the map is ctrl+v.

So if you're looking for an active cantina to heal, remember to check this out:



The suns signifying that the cantina is 'active'.

Entertainers of EiF! You simply need to do /register upon entering the structure. You can have this within a macro as it won't toggle-off if you repeatedly run the command. The only way to de-register is to leave the structure.

You are able to bind shortcuts to shoulder your instruments or holster your weapons on EIF.

You will find them in the Options menu>Controls>Keymaps


This will allow you to carry them on your character, not just in your inventory. **Note - smaller weapons(knuckler/pistols holster at your waist**
